Quality Engineer joins Scion-Sprays April 2008
Recognising that the quality of the final production is determined by the product and process design, Graham Young, Quality Engineer, has input into the final stages of product development as well as the process design and manufacturing set up.
The Quality Assurance philosophy at Scion-Sprays is focused on defect prevention, rather than defect detection. Graham commented that “you cannot inspect good quality into a product, inspection is too late! Product quality must be built into every part of the process to ensure early detection and resolution of process variability’s.
As well as establishing a quality system for the whole company, Graham’s responsibilities include ensuring that the resulting production meets customer requirements in specification, reliability and durability when mass production starts in 2009. Supplier quality assurance also forms a key part of Graham’s role, which involves working with a global supplier base.
Graham’s considerable experience includes roles within the automotive, defence, and service sectors.
